This is where the journey begins...
The “Characteristics of Effective Learning” are at the heart of our Early Years Provision. All the learning experiences we plan for our children allow them to utilise and develop these skills to ensure they are effective learners whilst progressing through the 7 areas of the EYFS curriculum.
Play-based experiences which reflect the needs and interests of our children are delivered through book-based themes and development of understanding of the seasons. We teach children individually, and in small groups. Through a combination of teacher input and continuous provision opportunities, learning is planned to encourage children to develop their learning through exploration. Our learning environments, both inside and outside, are designed to entice children into play, and are relevant to the needs and stage of development of our children. Easily accessible resources develop children’s ability to access the curriculum independently through play. Activities are provided to promote next steps in all areas of the EYFS curriculum.
There are short taught sessions daily for phonics, reading, writing (this is often weaved into play), and maths. There is a daily exercise session (dance, cosmic yoga, daily mile, chasing game) plus finger strength activities. Milk, snack and chat also occurs daily. There are two PE lessons a week, one of which is led by a specialist coach.
We are always busy and have LOTS OF FUN!
